On October 9, 2017, invited by AddisonsLaw Firm of Australia and “IBA” (International Bar Association), the Australianaffairs representative of Tahota Law Firm Lawyer Ran Xia attended the 2017 SydneyAnnual Meeting of IBA held in Sydney, Australia, and communicated with lawyersfrom all countries in the world such as Australia, UK, the United States, Germany,New Zealand, Korea, Japan and China.

The principal aims and objectivesof the IBA are:

To promote an exchange ofinformation between legal associations worldwide

To support the independence of thejudiciary and the right of lawyers to practice their profession withoutinterference

Support of human rights for lawyersworldwide through its Human Rights Institute

The IBA works towards theseobjectives through three main areas of activity:

Services for individual lawyermembers through its divisions, committees and constituents

Support for activities of barassociations and in particular, developing bars

Support of human rights for lawyersworldwide

In the communication this time, LawyerRan Xia introduced the scale, framework and the development in recent years ofour firm, and communicated with the lawyer representatives from all countries onthe thought and outlook in the development of lawyer profession. She also discussedabout the cooperative projects such as regular communication and experiencesharing between law firms in the future actively with the lawyer representativeJeremy Dsickerson of Burges Salmon Law Firm from London, UK and the lawyer representativeHans-Christian Ackermann of Luther Law Firm from Germany. The activity strengthenedthe communication between our firm and international firms and broadened our internationalview, which was good for further raising the international influence of ourfirm.
